Over the years, we have captioned for several local television
stations during their regular broadcasts, severe weather and
special events coverage. We also caption televised board
meetings, city council meetings, distance learning seminars and
many other events.

The Texas Closed Captioning Team:

Terry S. McGinty lives in Austin, Texas and is the owner of Texas Closed Captioning. Terry has been a Certified Shorthand Reporter since 1980 and began her captioning career in 1990. She has been providing CART and closed captioning in Central Texas since that time. Terry received the Registered Professional Reporter certificate in 1982, the Registered Merit Reporter certificate in 1989, the Certified Realtime Reporter certificate in 1994, the Registered Diplomate Reporter certificate in 1997, the Texas CART Provider Level V designation in 2000, the NCRA Certified CART Provider in 2005 and the NCRA Certified Broadcast Captioner in 2006.

Candie Bricker, co-founder of Texas Closed Captioning, has been a Certified Shorthand Reporter since 1982. She also began her captioning and CART career in 1990. She received the Registered Professional Reporter certificate in 1982, the Registered Merit Reporter certificate in 1988, and the Certified Realtime Reporter certificate in 1998 and the NCRA Certified Broadcast Captioner in 2005. Candie now resides in Springfield, Missouri and owns a captioning company there; however, she continues to be an active captioner with the Texas Closed Captioning team.

Polly Fife, from Georgetown, Texas, has been a Certified Shorthand Reporter since 1986. Polly has been providing realtime court reporting services since 1995 and started captioning in 1997. She received her Registered Professional Reporter certificate in 1997 and became a Certified Realtime Reporter in 1998. She also achieved a Texas CART Provider Level V designation in 2002 and the NCRA Certified Broadcast Captioner in 2006.

Whitney Alden, from San Antonio, Texas, has been a Certified Shorthand Reporter since 1989, and began providing realtime court reporting services in 1994. Whitney started her CART and captioning career in 1998. She received her Registered Professional Reporter and Certified Realtime Reporter certificates in 2000. She achieved a Texas CART Provider Level III designation in 2000 and the NCRA Certified CART Provider in 2005.

All members of the Texas Closed Captioning team have presented at numerous court reporting and CART seminars sponsored by the Texas Court Reporters Association.

Texas Closed Captioning also contracts with highly-qualified, independent captioners around the country to provide realtime closed captioning as the need arises.
